Personally I do not think 12-21-2012 is the end of the world, yet, common sense does rather insist that we prepare for the unknown, for hard times ahead. It's almost as if this "common sense" message is embedded within the collective consciousness of many individuals. Those that are aware and paying attention to the state of global affairs and even their close surroundings know that "something" is not right and we are in a rather "uncertain" place right now as a species, even the planet is severely stressed and stirring.

In today’s world it is no secret that many things are on a potentially disastrous or chaotic course, such as our financial system and economy, affordable living, food crisis, natural disasters on the rise, etc.

Some claim the Mayan Calendar is ending on 12-21-2012 and therefore the world is ending too. Personally I feel that it is only a re-boot of an ancient calendar and not much more to it, but anything is possible. I don't feel like the world is going to end, but many other signs are in place that times are going to get tougher, not easier, in the near future. Perhaps the Mayan calendar is just another sign as a reminder for us humans to get our house in order and back on the right path, or else. In any case, regardless of what belief system a person has, times are definitely changing and our species and all our relatives on this planet are in for some hard times to say the least if things do not drastically change soon as to our behavior and ways of living.

2012 may not be the end of the world literally, but it may be the end of the world as we know it or as we have become used to or conditioned to believe it to be. Many things are happening right now that I personally believe if not addressed and or corrected real soon will have a major impact of civilization in the next 12 to 24 months, such as; the global economic system, the run-away governments and big corporations, (corruption and greed) the availability of food, (especially for the poorer nations), etc.

We as a species have become as a spoiled rotten and badly behaved child, lacking discipline, morals, and basically lacking love and compassion for one another. Not all people are like this, but the most dangerous aspect of this bad behavior is found in places that control resources and nations….this is very dangerous to our own existence and the health of even the planet. Although those in power are doing the most damage to the planet and civilization, they are not the only ones to blame, we ourselves, all or most people have contributed to and played their part too. Most people alive today are actually feeding the systems in place that are doing the damage so to speak, we are all in one way or another being accessories to the problems that threaten civilization.

One may ask, “What am I suppose to do about it?” Personally I do not have the magic answer or solution but I do know one thing that would be a great plus, and that is, we MUST change our behaviors and habits.

The time is now for all of us to take a deep look at ourselves in a physical and spiritual way and ask ourselves the “magic” question, “Do I continue to contribute to the problems that are physically and spiritually damaging civilization, the earth and all upon her, or do I do what I can to change my behaviors and habits in a way that will physical and spiritually help and heal civilization, the earth and all upon her?”. The answer should be a simple one, but it must be backed by action.

The deepest part of my being believes that if we all begin to change our way of thinking and thus through action of changing our behaviors and habits, it will create a domino effect and begin to change the way the "powers that be", those that control and run nations, ways of doing business so to speak and ultimately cause or force them to change their ways of behaving and acting. It will not happen over night and of course more extreme measures may be necessary concerning certain systems, but it is a great start in my opinion.

Many have already began to change their habits and behaviors and it has already affected the great cycle and is changing the ways of the “powers that be” in how “they” do business, not always in a good way, but sometimes so. Many things are now beginning to change at an astonishing rate; the good changes are quickly catching up to the bad and will eventually cause the bad to decrease in several ways. It will be possibly a long process, but if many more wake up and begin to see that they are part of the problem, perhaps they too will change their way of thinking, habits, and behaviors and become a part of the solution.

Remember, the changes that need to occur that will make this planet and civilization better for us will not happen over night, but will take time, possibly many years, but it MUST start now! Every little thing you do to make things better prevents you from being a part of the problem causing you to become more a part of the solution, and will add to the solutions power and effect upon everything.

We have the power and ability to change anything and everything! Those that we see in power and controlling everything right now are in the same boat as us in the long run and what they are doing is more damaging than what most of us are doing, but their true power is basically an illusion. History has proven that the people always prevail and have the most power, that is up until they change their behavior, habits, and ways of thinking first, and become the solution and not just an ingredient of the problem.

The choice is yours, do you want to be a contributor and part of the problem or more so a part of the solution?
