I just wanted to speak and share some of my thoughts, my perspective, that I have about the meaning of "Walking The Red Road".
When one chooses to walk the red road, be they red, white, black, yellow, or even green!, it is a good thing; The red road is not just about being Indian, it is about all of us as being human regardless of our race or background. It is about all peoples joining together to become better earth stewards, to become better human beings.
To ignore or deny a non-Indian of walking the red road harms the earth and everything upon it, it restricts the coming together of energies and elements that can forever enrich the path and possibly prevent a stronger and better world for future generations.
At one time in the ancient past, we all walked the red road together, it is time that we all started to do it again.
It is now more important than ever for all peoples to recognize the true meaning of the red road and what it means to all of us and to the Great Mother. The Native Americans are the experts of this path or road, which was given to them from the Creator. The Red Road is the path of the Earth Stewards. It is the path that all the peoples of the Earth must walk and to also bring with them the energies and elements that were given to them by the Creator, to join forces and heal not just the earth, but all the elements, and even ourselves.
The Earth, The Air, The Fire, The Water....the four elements that are in danger and need our attention. We are the fifth element, the element of Spirit and Thought, which also needs our immediate attention. For without these five elements working in balance and syncronicity together, they all will become chaotic and unstable. Due to our neglect, I feel all of the elements have become harmed and unstable.
A gathering of all peoples, a gathering of the element keepers is necessary and has already started. Walking the Red Road is an honoring to the Great Mother and all upon her.
Walking the red road together is not just a gathering of different peoples for a common purpose, but also a gathering of different energies and elements for a common purpose. It is a gathering of many peoples to find healing solutions relating to the mother earth, the elements, and we ourselves. It is a physical and spiritual gathering to address many physical and spiritual issues....

One of my mom's favorite sayings is 'praise ignorance, for what man has not discovered, he has not destroyed.' I pray future generations will not say this about us! I pray we can be the generation of change!
